WELCOME BACK!It's great to be writing this, because it means we are gearing up for a new summer league in 2022 after effectively a 3 year break!
Now is not the time to dwell on the pandemic, save to say it changed us all, in different ways, and we hope that you and your loved ones stayed safe, and looked after each other. Needless to say it was the toughest of times, and the strangest of times, and possibly the most challenging of times, and our chosen charity this year seeks to reflect that, to do what we can to support people who have been, and continue to do it tough. But we have come through it, and it's great that we can now get our summer season underway! so WELCOME BACK, have great season, where hopefully the weather will be brighter, players will be smiling, and umpires will be plentiful. UmpiresIt is YOUR responsibility to nominate umpires this season, with names provided to Helen (Umpiring Secretary) or filled in on the umpire sheet in the hut, AT LEAST a week in advance. Your umpire will umpire the round AFTER you play, i,e, 7pm game = 7.50pm umpire; 7.50pm game = 8.40pm umpire; 8.40pm game = 7pm umpire.
If you cancel your match please DO NOT cancel your umpire! UMPIRE QUALIFICATIONS SHOULD BE: Divs 1-3: C Award or above Divs 4-5: C Award or working toward Divs 6-7: 'Into' Award COMMITTEE MEMBERS WANTEDOwing to changes in personnel in three key Committee roles this year, it has become necessary to hold a major recruitment exercise. It is crucial for the continuation of the League that we get more dedicated people onto the committee as the remaining members will struggle to cover the weekly supervision of matches.

Each team must provide a scorer for ALL games. Scorers should stand in the correct place as stated by the League As we are still being mindful of Covid and keeping all players, teams, spectators, umpires and the Committee safe can we please ask you to follow a few procedural matters this season:
Please take all belongings and rubbish with you when you leave......use the bins provided on site! Can ALL teams make sure they arrive and register for matches 15 minutes BEFORE the match start time. If you haven't registered. Failure to arrive in sufficient time to allow players to be checked by Committee Members on duty could result in you not being able to play, and a fine! Thank you. |
