Welcome

Chairman's Introduction

Welcome to the Dudley Netball Leagues website.  2013 can already be viewed as a remarkable year for netball, with the England team being victorious over the Australians in the recent test series, demonstrating the potential for reaching the much coveted no1 spot and that netball has also received some fabulous accolades and funding for their ‘Back to Netball’ initiative.  All this bodes well for the future and promotion of our sport.

Here at Dudley Netball League, we have also taken on some new initiatives; the introduction of a league safeguarding officer, to help keep the league the safe environment we require for our younger team members to play in, and the introduction of a website coordinator, to ensure that you and your team members are kept up to date with information throughout the season.   I trust that you will find these roles as benefiting to the league as I do.

This website includes information about the league and you will notice that we have updated some pages; please make sure that you read through the rules, guidelines and codes of conduct carefully, and make sure that your team members, officials and spectators are all aware of the content. If you need to ratify anything, please come and speak to me or a committee member.  There are also links to other netball websites, like the West Midlands regional league and All England, which we hope you will find useful.  We aim to keep you up to date with league information, announcements and up and coming events in the netball calendar.

As a league we pride ourselves on the fact that we manage to retain a high number of teams from one season to the next, and once again this season we have also managed to accommodate a number of new teams to subsidise the excellent standard of play we have come to expect.

So, on behalf of myself and all of the Dudley League committee, I wish you a successful 2013 summer season, and as they say ‘let the games begin; play hard and play fair’.

Sally
Chairman

Chris has been working with his mentor, Bernie Young, for the past 18 months so it is well deserved.

Once again Chris, very well done!
